Discover Pennsylvania
11 Days/ 10 Nights
Where does
America start? Right here in
Pennsylvania! The Keystone State, that
integral block in an arch that holds it all together.
The Continental Congress declared America a country
in Philadelphia. The Union Army kept that country together
at Gettysburg. Pennsylvania gave
industrial America a huge push forward from the first
commercial oil well drilled in the US. Even before the state
was awarded to William Penn in 1681, Pennsylvania has been
owned by the Dutch and the Swedes, beginning the melting pot
of cultures that today includes more Germans and Italians
than English. Ben Franklin established
the US Post Office, Benjamin Rush the first liberal arts
college and the Binney company, invented crayons all right
here in Pennsylvania. You can
experience all of the heady stuff sprinkled in between the
fun stuff in Pennsylvania on this compact, 10 day trip where
we introduce you to the most dramatic highlights of the
state. You can start your visit in
Philadelphia, where America began and Valley Forge where the
fortunes of the newly minted country were hanging in the
balance. In the deafening silence of the
Gettysburg battlefield, you can almost hear the drums
beating that started the march off Cemetery Ridge and the
guns that held Little Roundtop. But alas,
Pennsylvania is not all history. As you
travel from place to place, you’ll be enamored by the
natural beauty. You’ll also discover
robust arts, wine trails, the gentle culture of the Amish
and many other attractions that add to the richness of the
visit. That’s a lot to pack into 10 days!
Yet we are confident that you’ll enjoy the Keystone
State from beginning to end. Let your
visit start where America starts!
